How to show SUBREPORT when no data is returned.

I have a subreport within the details section of my main report. This is enclosed by a single group. When I preview the subreport alone, it diplays the subreport correctly with no data (meaning it still displays the header and footer without a detail section). When the subreport is run within the main report and no subreport data is returned the subreport does not show.

Based on other threads I understand that the default functionality is to display headers and footers when no data is returned. This appears accurate except on a subreport.

Would the "no rows"-property help you? there you can define a message that is shown when the subreport has no rows..|||

I fixed this by returning a row of nulls in my return dataset when no records where found. Works.

How to show a line between table column headers and the details

I am using table object to present report.

table row1 has all the column names and table row2 has the data.

How can i put a horizontal line between column names and the data rows.

Would adding a solid border to the bottom of the row having the column headers in it work?

How to set in Details part by default 5 records even records are not available

Hi all,

I am facing a problem with the students report customization. Students will be selecting different subjects for different term(or semester). So for each semester also they can select max up to 5 subjects. So few students will take 2 subjects , few 5 subjects or 3 subjects... so the problem is while taking the report the report must not come according to their selection but according to 5 subjects or more.. so the students who took 1 subject or 5 subject will be getting the same format.. if u couldnt able to understand me... i am ready to send u the database and that report. I am attaching a report which was prepared by some one else... into that report it is working u can see the blanck space if the student took only 1 subject the remaining 4 space are coming blanck...i want in this way...pls help me if u knowHi,

i want to set background image to report can any one tell how to set to whole report. i can set image to header, fotter, details, etc but cannot set for whole reportif you have CR XI, there are some examples of templates, one of the templates is a confidential underlay. That is a least one way to do this. also look for underlay following sections (in section expert) add your graphic to a page header, and select underlay following sections.|||Try this:
Insert another Page Header section (PHb), expand this new section that it would be the size of your page. Place your picture in the center of the PHb.
Then in the Section Expert, select the PHb section and check the "Underlay Following Sections".
