how to show summary numbers inside data
I have a simple report that shows agent code, state, and zipcode for hte
clients of a given agent. I need to modify this report to show a summary of
how many clients are in each zipcode in each state for each agent.
How do I design my report to allow a first glance to be the agent(s), then
drill down to a state-->count of clients/state rpt, then drill down to number
of clients per zip in that state, then drill down to show the full data for
that zip?
is this a code issue or can rpt svc group my results and display the data
the way I want it?
thank you in advance!!No and yes.
Sort the data by agent, zipcode and client.
Add group for agent and for zipcode.
In the footer of each group, add a field to capture count. For the
expression:
=Count(Fields!ClientId.Value) or whatever uniquely identifies the client in
the result set.
After that, get some beer and sandwiches and do what I do, chase your golf
balls around in the woods all day.

samples go to adventureWorks Sample and go to "Territory Sales Drilldown"
after seeing that I think you can build your reports.

how to Set variable value in sub package?
hi !
how to set variable value for sub package inside another package?
some thing like this:
xp_cmdshell 'dtexec /f \"D:\\SSISProject\\Integration Services Project1\\ArchiveMainMultiTables.dtsx\" /Set \package.Variables[User::ArchivePackageName].Properties[Value];\"ArchiveTicketLog\" /Set \package.Variables[User::ArchiveFileType].Properties[Value];\"text\" /Set \package.Variables[User::connectst].Properties[Value];\"Data/tSource=SE413695\AASQL2005;Initial/tCatalog=TestDB;Provider=SQLNCLI.1;Integrated/tSecurity=SSPI;\[ConnectionString]'
Main Package = ArchiveMainMultiTables.dtsx
sub packge = ArchiveTicketLog. when i try to execute the sub pacakge it thorughs up error saying the connection string in not set. i am setting in the parent connection string of the main package. when i execute through the pacakge itself it works fine but when i execute through the Sql command line it fails.
is there some thing to to "/Set [package name]\Package.Connections[ConnectStringArchiveTicket].Properties[Value];
please help
thanks
jas
Have you looked at parent package configurations?

How to set up Report Model Datasource for proper deployment to WSS
inside Business Intelligence Studio to point to a Model deployed to a
Sharepoint WSS Deeply integrated Report Server. Also I am getting strange 260
character limit errors reported when I use the previous existing DataSource
Settings which work for a Native Integration Report Server. Two things
probably related so fixing first should get rid of second hopefully. Thanks
for any help in this matter.Sorted this out for myself already guys.
Pretty obvious really. If anyone else needs to know the answer reply to this
with tell me how, and I will reveal all.

How to set null value for a smalldatetime inside a Script Component task?
how the hell you allocate a null value for a smalldatetime sql field?
Now, I'm putting a false date because of I'm stuck with this f.. and then I do an update:
.Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = "1999-01-01"
error:
.Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = vbNull
.Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = Null
.Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = SqlDbType.?
Try
Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = Nothing
-Jamie
|||hi jamie,
Well, it doesn't works because of my code wait any value:
Public Overrides Sub PreExecute()
sqlCmd = New SqlCommand(sSql, sqlConn)
sqlParam = New SqlParameter("@.FecEnajenacion", SqlDbType.SmallDateTime)
sqlCmd.Parameters.Add(sqlParam)
....
Public Overrides Sub Input0_ProcessInputRow(ByVal Row As Input0Buffer)
.....
With Sqlcmd
If dFecha2 = "0000/00/00" Then
.Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = Nothing
Else
.Parameters("@.FecEnajenacion").Value = dFecha2
End If
.ExecuteNonQuery()
End With
End Sub
Prepared statement '(@.Ejercicio smallint,@.NIFPerc char(9),@.NIFRep char(9),@.Nombre va' expects parameter @.FecEnajenacion, which was not supplied.
|||enric,
the DBNull data type must be used when setting the parameter value property to null.
i recommend that you post this question to the ADO.NET forum for further assistance.|||thank you
